A group of takers are hired to retrieve a flash drive from the glove box of a cybertruck currently located in an abandoned shopping mall. Unfortunately, the only way to safely open the glovebox is through the cybertruck software, which required recharging the vehicle and jailbreaking the software, all the while in a mall overrun with the infected. The mall is near a paranoid enclave that views the mall as their turf, another complicating factor.

Such a specific form of cannibalism alerted the program, which activated four agents to investigate the strange death. Rice was investigating a company selling peptides when he died. What connection does the company have with his death? The agents find a horrific conspiracy lurking in the small town and even worse occult secrets.

Lord Fairfax was a wealthy and successful merchant. Having purchased and experienced all the oddities the surface had to offer, Fairfax became obsessed with the Shadowdark. One day, dark clouds formed over his castle. Crawlers who ventured close said that golden mist spills from the keep. None who enter ever leave again. Locals now call it Castle Goldgloom and laugh when crawlers take the old road that leads to its doors. Now, a mob of local villagers venture forth into the castle to find treasure to save their homes.
