A cluster of enclaves in Missouri faces annihilation at the hands of a massive horde of the undead. Their only hope is to prepare for war, a job for their preeminent taker crew, the D4s. Led by a (reform) Black Math cultist, the crew drives an armored vehicle, the Dragula, so they focus exclusively on taking scores. They need to build up their warchest of assets to use against the horde if they want to stand a chance. Their first score involves retrieving a cache of weights in a gym, but the building has partially collapsed into a nearby river. What lurks beneath may spell their doom.

In Medieval Europe, the Black Death has taken countless lives. Some of its victims have arisen as the restless undead, killing any who fall in their grasp. The survivors huddle together in walled fortresses and towns, trying to eke a living. Some of the hardier survivors take mercenary work, no matter how dangerous it is. One such team has agreed to retrieve a spice chest from an abandoned fortress. What price will they pay to complete their mission?

This game was run by Ethan Cordray of Technical Difficulties podcast, using his beta version of Red Markets Black Death, a medieval hack of Red Markets.

Cast: Ross, Birk, Adam T (from RPX), and Greg B.

A group of Takers have been hired to secure printers and laminating machines from a DMV in an overrun mall. Along the way, they will have to fight casualties, a toll booth, and other Takers. I ran this game for a group of mostly new players at Patrecon 2018. Be sure to check out the following creators:

A powerful tech company’s main campus fell to the undead five years ago. Today, the hordes have scattered enough that taker crews can access the Torus. One such crew will attempt to accomplish multiple jobs at once while on site. Will they make a profit or will their greed doom them? Find out as special guest players Adam Scott Glancy (preorder Delta Green!), Peter Nielsen, (author of Galaxy Inc.) Micah Nielsen (check out Drunken Dwarf Designs for great LARPing gear) and RPPR’s own Faust (check out Thrilling Intent!)

A new group of takers has formed in the enclave of Trabajo, looking for work. A client in the Recession wants them to retrieve a painting, Thomas Eakin’s “Cowboy Singing” from a museum in Denver. Venturing into the heart of a city is never easy or safe, but the pay is worth it.

This is the first of three games I ran in different systems, linked by famous paintings, a triptych if you will. Enjoy!
