dragon-likeMonster of the Week is a PbtA (Powered by the Apocalypse) system game that emulates TV shows like Supernatural, X-Files, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It encourages collaboration between players and GM so this particular game is set in a small town in New Mexico called Taos. Dwight, a Professional from Tartarus Inc. an esoteric-security firm, Tué, a Spell-Slinger, and William, an Expert in the occult, team up to investigate a series of strange events. It begins with teenagers burned to cinders outside of town, but who knows where this mystery will lead to?

The investigators leave civilization to travel into the interior of the Australian outback, a dangerous journey even with the latest 20th century technology aiding them. Aside from the blistering heat, lethal wildlife and other hazards associated with the desert, they will have to face insane cultists and supernatural abominations from beyond time and space. Once they draw near the dig site, they find that reality is more permeable than they previously thought. When the line between the waking world and the dreaming world is too thin, what will happen?

They research methods of destroying the cursed thing and soon find themselves embroiled in investigating the supernatural full time, including bouts of missing time and encounters in the Dreamlands. This eventually leads them to a missing person’s case in Hollywood. A young actress has disappeared before her next film is set to debut. The investigators know it is tied to the occult, but they have no idea how far down the mystery goes.Finding the actress is somehow tied to destroying the artifact, but how?
