An expedition to the Backrooms has lost contact with Earth. The secretive foundation running the expedition sends in a team of operatives to reestablish contact and secure the zone. Whatever cut off the expedition doesn’t want them to succeed though.

Razin 4 is just another destination for a crew of spacers on a cargo mission but they’ve hit a hitch. They’re supposed to pick up some starship engines but sabotage has slowed their production down. The factory manager offers the crew a special job at a high rate to find out who’s sabotaging the engine production. The crew can’t leave without the engines anyway, so they go planetside to find out what’s going on. The Blue Butterfly awaits.

In the far future 10 million years after humanity has disappeared and only the Ageless remain. Immortal beings of plastic and metal and magic, the Ageless live on. Death is only temporary although memories disappear with each new death. One of the Ageless went to the stars and has recently returned. The first Ageless to reach the Star Rat can ask him a boon, no matter what it is. With nothing else to do, the Ageless embark on the wackiest race of all time!
