Agent Stanfield was tasked with finding the truth behind an artifact that has recently surfaced. He has since vanished. The artifact in question is what appears to be a part from one of Russia’s Venera probes, the only probes to have landed on Venus. A team of agents has been brought in to find Stanfield and retrieve the artifacts. He was last seen in Russia, beyond the jurisdiction of the United States.

A pair of sharpers are hired to rescue the heir to a corporate fortune. The problem? He’s been kidnapped and enslaved on a mining planet. Finding one man among countless damned souls may be impossible for some, but these two mercenaries live for the challenge. A call in the dead of night to go to an office park a two-hour drive away. It is an emergency. When the team assembles, a woman who smells of smoke and death, hastily tells them the job.

“We need you to pose as the new management team of the local office of McPherson Logistics Solutions, which as far as anyone knows, is an international shipping company. They were led by a group of hostiles. They’re gone now, thanks to us…There’s a basement. It is dangerous. It must be secured. We have a keycard that works for the front door. That’s all we can offer.”
