Looks like a sound investment. http://matthewniederhauser.com/research/2011/09/03/the-ordos-real-estate-bubble-an-empty-chinese-metropolis/When I was in China, I met up with some RPPR listeners and ran a game of Call of Cthulhu for them. I was fascinated by the rise of Ghost Cities in China, so I decided to run a one shot set in one. Three investigators hired by a western hedge fund head out to Inner Mongolia to assess a newly built city, which is oddly called July Park, as a potential investment opportunity. The investigators find more than they could have imagined but will they survive long enough to understand what they have seen?

Please note that this episode was recorded on my phone instead of the usual recorder, so the quality isn’t quite as good. I had a blast running the game so I think you guys will still enjoy it.

Night fell and the hours dragged on, but still we murmured to each other of the King and the Pallid Mask, and midnight sounded from the misty spires in the fog-wrapped city. We spoke of Hastur and of Cassilda, while outside the fog rolled against the blank window-panes as the cloud waves roll and break on the shores of Hali.An earthquake links a group of survivors together. If not for a seemingly miraculous event, they should have all died. Drawn to a mysterious professor who seems to know how and why they were saved, the survivors agree to follow him on a trip to a strange city. The city was built by visionaries but has been forgotten by history. Where is it? What secrets lurk within? The survivors know they must answer these questions or the they will never find peace. But once inside, the survivors find that leaving the city may be impossible. What price will they pay to find a way out?

This episode dates back from last year’s Halloween but I had forgotten about it until today so I decided to share with you all now. A group of New Yorkers are lured overseas by a human trafficking syndicate for a sinister purpose – to be thrown into a mysterious structure known only as the Construct. The rules of reality are seemingly suspended inside but there is a dark logic at work. Two alien intelligences are at war. Can this group of unlikely survivors figure out how to escape the Construct and their captors?
