Synopsis: The crew of the Tender Branch head out to deal with the first of the Three Beasts, the Beast of Scale. A massive flying monster that can destroy an entire island by itself is too dangerous to let live but conventional weapons cannot harm it. The knights fly to a kingdom with an archive of arcane lore but a secret cult of assassins tries to stop them. Even if they learn of the creature’s weakness, can they find and use it before Scale destroys too much?

So is it one of those ‘Don’t kill it because of mystical reasons’ magical super beasts or a ‘why the fuck didn’t the ancients kill it? They had its weaknesses on file’ magical super beast?
